Francis Lacsamana is a multi-instrumentalist (bass, Kulintang, and kubing) of Filipino and European descent. Francis got his start by playing in garage bands down in Southern California. Francis became immersed in Motown, jazz, brazilian, funk, Afro-pop and reggae music while living in Europe and South America. Upon returning to the States, his band, Conglomerate, was signed to an indie label (Cargo Records) and he spent several years doing the West coast club circuit form San Diego, California to Vancouver, Canada.

Apart from Asian Crisis, Francis has performed at the 2000 Ethnic Dance Festival with the Palabunyan Kulintang Ensemble(led by Danny Kalanduyan), the Malcom X Jazz Festival(with the Black Dot Workshop Band and members of the Ethnic Heritage Ensemble), Vietnamese singer Unity Nguyen, Guamanian singer Jessie Manibussen and saxophonist Francis Wong.
He has recorded music with rappers Zhaldee and Planet Asia and has shared venues with artists such as Ozomatli, Van Morrison, Jewel, Gil Scott Heron, the Jazz Passengers with Deborah Harry, Big Mountain and the Coup.

For the past few years Francis has focused on developing a style of music that reflects his Filipino, Asian-American background.
